1466). Receipts include freight on exports carried by U.S.-operated carriers and foreign carrier expenditures in U.S. ports.<br />

Payments include freight on imports carried by foreign carriers and U.S. carrier port expenditures abroad. Freight on exports<br />

carried by foreign carriers is sxcluded since such payments are directly or indirectly for foreign account. Similarly, freight on U.S.<br />

imports carried by U.S. carriers is a domestic rather than an international transaction. Minus sign (—) denotes excess of<br />
