AAC102 – Acupuncture Meridians <strong>and</strong> Points I<br />
Units: 3<br />
This course is designed to introduce the basic concepts of acupuncture, such as nomenclature <strong>and</strong> functions<br />
of the acupuncture meridians <strong>and</strong> points, the distribution of the meridians, <strong>and</strong> measuring methods of<br />
locating acupuncture points. This course will emphasize on the anatomical locations <strong>and</strong> therapeutic<br />
indications of acupuncture points at the first six meridians, i.e., Lung, Large Intestine, Stomach, Spleen, Heart,<br />
<strong>and</strong> Small Intestine meridians. There is actual practice of point locations by the students under instructor’s<br />
supervision.<br />

AAC203 – Acupuncture Meridians <strong>and</strong> Points II<br />
Units: 3<br />
This course introduces the basic concepts of acupuncture, such as nomenclature <strong>and</strong> functions of the<br />
acupuncture meridians <strong>and</strong> points, the distribution of the meridians, <strong>and</strong> measuring methods of locating<br />
acupuncture points. This course will emphasize the anatomical locations <strong>and</strong> therapeutic indications of<br />
acupuncture points at the meridians of Urinary bladder, Kidney, Pericardium, Triple energizer, Gallbladder,<br />
<strong>and</strong> Liver, Governor/Du <strong>and</strong> Conception/Ren Vessels. This course also introduces all the other extra Vessels<br />
including: Belt/Dai, Thoroughfare/Chong, Yang Heel/Yangqiao, Yin Heel/Yinqiao, Yang Link/Yangwei, <strong>and</strong> Yin<br />
Link/Yinwei.<br />

AAC205 – Acupuncture Techniques I<br />
Units: 2<br />
This course involves the actual practice of needling techniques on acupuncture points of various meridians<br />
covering the entire body. Students will needle the acupuncture points under close supervision of the<br />
instructors to ensure precise insertion skills, angle, <strong>and</strong> depth of acupuncture techniques. The students will<br />
learn how to avoid damaging the underlying vessels, nerves, or vital organs when puncturing those critical<br />
points. In this course, students will practice the needling techniques on the assigned points of the Lung, Large<br />
Intestine, Stomach, Spleen, Heart, Small Intestine, <strong>and</strong> Urinary Bladder Meridians. Instructor’s demonstration<br />
<strong>and</strong> student’s h<strong>and</strong>s-on practice are the major part of the course.<br />
