10. 4 credits of biological psychology<br />

11. 4 credits of research <strong>and</strong> evidence based health care<br />

12. 4 credits of integrative health field practicum<br />

13. 4 credits of integrative health capstone/thesis<br />

Undergraduate Thesis Project <strong>and</strong> Field Practicum<br />

Each student must complete an undergraduate thesis project <strong>and</strong> is required to complete coursework within a<br />

field practicum placement setting. The field practicum must be approved <strong>and</strong> consist of a non-profit<br />

organization that provides integrative health or alternative or complimentary medicine. The student will<br />

volunteer <strong>and</strong> provide weekly status reports <strong>and</strong> gain knowledge <strong>and</strong> experience first-h<strong>and</strong> as they provide<br />

services <strong>for</strong> a community agency. Students will connect this experience to their capstone project/thesis. In<br />

addition to coursework, exams, quizzes <strong>and</strong> readings, students will research, prepare <strong>and</strong> write an APA style<br />

term paper on their field practicum experience as it relates to integrative medicine, integrative health care <strong>and</strong><br />

interprofessional practice.<br />

To earn the degree, BS in Biological Sciences students must also comply with the following policies regarding<br />

attendance, incomplete grades, earned units, <strong>and</strong> cumulative grade point average.<br />

Attendance Policy<br />

Students are required to attend all hours of the program. In the case of an excused absence, students should<br />

contact the instructor to see what arrangements can be made to make-up the hours missed. Students are<br />

responsible <strong>for</strong> being on time <strong>and</strong> prepared <strong>for</strong> each class session with homework assignments completed,<br />

appropriate attire, supplies, etc. All homework <strong>and</strong> in-class assignments <strong>and</strong> exams will be graded. Students<br />

must maintain a 75% average on all assignments <strong>and</strong> exams to successfully continue in <strong>and</strong> complete the<br />

program. Students who fail to maintain hours <strong>and</strong> grades may be placed on academic probation <strong>and</strong>/or<br />

dismissed from the program.<br />
