Submission of a student’s work that has previously counted in another unit of study is not allowed, unless<br />

explicitly authorized by the faculty members of both study units. In such case, students must reference their<br />

previous work.<br />

Sabotage<br />

(SCU Policy 5.5.3.2.5)<br />

Destruction of or deliberate inhibition of progress of another student’s work related to a course is considered<br />

academically dishonest. This includes the destruction or hiding of shared resources such as library materials <strong>and</strong><br />

computer software <strong>and</strong> hardware to tampering with another person’s laboratory experiments.<br />

Falsification of Academic Records<br />

A student who falsifies or attempts to falsify academic/clinical records will be subject to dismissal from the<br />

University. Additionally, any grades or credits earned may be revoked.<br />

Students are prohibited from engaging in willful violation of the canons of ethics <strong>for</strong> the University or applicable<br />

<strong>SCUHS</strong> is committed to providing a campus that is safe <strong>and</strong> secure, <strong>and</strong> that allows students to develop as<br />

professional individuals <strong>and</strong> responsible citizens. Students are expected to behave in ways that are respectful of<br />

the rights of all members of the <strong>SCUHS</strong> community to learn, work, practice <strong>and</strong> teach. The Student Code of<br />

Ethics is meant to address any student behaviors that disrupt or detract from the goals of the University. To<br />

learn more about the principles guiding the Code of Ethics <strong>and</strong> Judicial Process at <strong>SCUHS</strong>, please consult the<br />

Judicial H<strong>and</strong>book.<br />

Students are expected to maintain themselves at all times in a manner befitting a professional institution.<br />

Unprofessional conduct at the University will not be tolerated. Students should realize that their enrollment at<br />

<strong>SCUHS</strong> is a privilege, not a right, <strong>and</strong> carries with it obligations with regard to conduct, not only inside but also<br />

outside the classrooms. In addition, students are subject to the laws governing the community, as well as the<br />

rules <strong>and</strong> regulations of the University.<br />

Students are also expected to observe the st<strong>and</strong>ards of professional conduct, dress, <strong>and</strong> appearance approved<br />

by the University <strong>and</strong> the profession. Personal conduct <strong>and</strong> appearance are outward expressions of character.<br />
