Ayurvedic Practitioner<br />

The College of Science <strong>and</strong> Integrative Health offers a ten-course, one-year (900 hours) program to earn an<br />

Ayurvedic Practitioner certificate. Students attend one virtual evening class per week (virtual class), listen to<br />

weekly recorded lectures (e-learning), <strong>and</strong> attend classes in person one weekend per month (classroom<br />

learning). Students receive weekly clinical experience in the SCU Health System <strong>and</strong> complete a capstone<br />

project. Applicants must have completed the Ayurvedic Wellness certificate to qualify <strong>for</strong> the Ayurvedic<br />

Practitioner program.<br />

Program Learning Outcomes<br />

Professionalism <strong>and</strong> Communication<br />

The graduate will demonstrate integrity <strong>and</strong> respect <strong>for</strong> all, <strong>and</strong> communicate professionally.<br />

Ayurvedic Philosophies<br />

The graduate will able to describe Philosophy <strong>and</strong> basic principles explained in ayurveda.<br />

Ayurvedic Nutrition Practitioner<br />

The graduate will assess patient’s diet <strong>and</strong> recommend ayurvedic dietary plan <strong>for</strong> health promotion <strong>and</strong> disease<br />

management.<br />

Herbal Therapies Practitioner<br />

The graduate will select <strong>and</strong> recommend single herbs <strong>and</strong> their combination including commonly used <strong>for</strong>mula<br />

<strong>for</strong> health promotion <strong>and</strong> disease management.<br />

Ayurvedic Therapies Practitioner<br />

The graduate will recommend <strong>and</strong> per<strong>for</strong>m basic Ayurvedic therapies including detoxification <strong>and</strong> rejuvenation<br />

<strong>for</strong> health promotion <strong>and</strong> disease management.<br />

Yoga Practitioner<br />

The graduate will select <strong>and</strong> recommend of yogic practices <strong>for</strong> health promotion care <strong>and</strong> disease management.<br />

Health Promotion <strong>and</strong> Disease Prevention<br />

The graduate will apply ayurvedic health promotion <strong>and</strong> disease prevention principles <strong>for</strong> healthy aging.<br />

Business <strong>and</strong> Clinical Practice<br />

The graduate will apply business principles to develop <strong>and</strong> manage wellness practice.<br />

Ayurvedic Assessment <strong>and</strong> Diagnosis<br />

The graduate will take detail history <strong>and</strong> will use clinical reasoning skills to assess <strong>and</strong> make ayurvedic diagnosis.<br />

Ayurvedic Disease Management Plan<br />

The graduate will use clinical reasoning skills to determine the Ayurvedic disease management plan.<br />
