AY1300 – Ayurvedic Rejuvenation I<br />
Units:<br />
This course in<strong>for</strong>ms students about the unique health promotive <strong>and</strong> rejuvenatory concepts of Ayurveda.<br />
Students gain knowledge about the methods that support healthy aging, staying fit at any age <strong>and</strong> methods<br />
described <strong>for</strong> enhancing the body’s resistance against disease causing factors <strong>and</strong> preventing advancement of<br />
chronic diseases. Students will learn definition <strong>and</strong> synonyms of RASAYANA, importance of RASYANA <strong>and</strong> its<br />
benefits, indication <strong>and</strong> classifications of RASAYANA. Procedures of KUTIPRAVESHIKA, POORVAKARMA <strong>and</strong><br />
PASCHAT KARMA of KUTIPRAVESHIKA will be explained. DOSE of RASYANA according to age, Rules <strong>and</strong><br />
regulations of RASYANA therapies also will be discussed. Herbs <strong>and</strong> dietetic substances that enhance memory,<br />
voice, eyesight, energy <strong>and</strong> complexion will be highlighted.<br />

AY1400 – Marma Points <strong>and</strong> Ayurvedic Detoxification Methods/ Body Work I<br />
Units:<br />
This course will discuss the basic introduction of Ayurvedic MARMA theory <strong>and</strong> basic concept of<br />
PANCHAKARMA (detoxification methods/body work) with h<strong>and</strong> on experience of major therapies such as<br />
ABHYANGA, SHIROABHAYNGA, MUKHA ABHYANGA, SHIRODHARA, KATIBASTI, GREEVA BASTI, JANU BASTI<br />
<strong>and</strong> NETRA TARPANA. This course also provides the knowledge to prepare the <strong>for</strong>mulas/herbal preparations<br />
necessary to per<strong>for</strong>m these therapies. The student will gain the experience <strong>and</strong> knowledge of pre <strong>and</strong> post<br />
PANCHAKARMA precautions. Additionally, this course will offer an adequate knowledge to suggest proper<br />
diet <strong>and</strong> lifestyle suitable to each procedure.<br />

AY1500 – Sanskrit<br />
Units: 2<br />
This course provides basic underst<strong>and</strong>ing of ayurvedic terminology in Sanskrit language required to learn<br />
ayurvedic medicine, its philosophy <strong>and</strong> concepts.<br />

AY1600 – Ayurvedic History<br />
Units: 2<br />
This course explores the 5000 year history that has contributed to the orderly development of science of<br />
Ayurveda. This course imparts in depth knowledge of congregation of different medicinal <strong>and</strong> therapeutic<br />
in<strong>for</strong>mation in Vedas. Detailed knowledge of various spiritual influences, deities, <strong>and</strong> sages along with their<br />
philosophical contributions to development of Ayurveda has been described. Also, helps to underst<strong>and</strong> the<br />
legendary origin of Ayurveda from various classical texts. This course is designed to in<strong>for</strong>m the students about<br />
the Archeological <strong>and</strong> Manuscripts in support of the historical events. The course also updates the student<br />
with the current status of Ayurveda globally especially, its role in healthcare industry in western countries.<br />
