ADX1730 – Assisted Reproductive Technologies<br />

In this course students will learn the current reproductive medical technologies that will be used by their<br />
patients. The bioethics of assistive reproductive technology will also be discussed.<br />

ADX1810 – Integrated Clinical Medicine II<br />
Units: 3<br />
Continuing the Integrated Clinical Medicine series, this course covers internal medicine from an integrated<br />
perspective. Students will learn to recognize signs <strong>and</strong> symptoms from an OM perspective; make differential<br />
diagnosis in both Oriental <strong>and</strong> Western medical conditions, <strong>and</strong> develop a treatment plan including<br />
acupuncture, herbal prescriptions, lab <strong>and</strong> diagnostic imaging, <strong>and</strong> appropriate referrals.<br />
Prerequisites: CPM0406, APP1210, APP1310<br />

ADX1820 – OM Psychiatry <strong>and</strong> Counseling<br />
Units: 2<br />
In this course students will correlate OM pathological processes to psychological <strong>and</strong> personality disorders.<br />
Students will learn treatment of psychological conditions through the application of counseling skills,<br />
acupuncture <strong>and</strong> Chinese herbal <strong>for</strong>mulas, as well as consideration of drug-herb interactions in patients using<br />
psychotropic pharmaceuticals. Special considerations, red flags, <strong>and</strong> referrals are also included.<br />

ADX1830 – Diseases of Aging<br />
Units: 3<br />
In this course students will cover the expected diseases of aging, including internal <strong>and</strong> orthopedic diseases.<br />
Students will review pathologies <strong>and</strong> biomedical treatment options as well as integrating OM theories <strong>and</strong><br />
treatment principles. Students will discuss pharmacological, herbal, <strong>and</strong> nutritional treatment options <strong>and</strong><br />
how these options may be integrated.<br />

ADX1840 – Integrated Reproductive Medicine<br />
Units: 4<br />
In this course students will combine the knowledge gained in Integrated Gynecology, Andrology, <strong>and</strong> Assisted<br />
Reproductive Technologies in order to assess, diagnose, refer, <strong>and</strong> treat patients experiencing fertility<br />
difficulties. Students will learn how OM treatment principles can be integrated with modern reproductive<br />
technology to increase efficacy <strong>and</strong> how OM clinicians may work collaboratively with physicians treating<br />
fertility patients.<br />
