• Certification of Finances (COF) <strong>for</strong>m: evidence of possessing financial resources to complete the<br />
academic program (minimum funds vary by program, contact the Office of Admissions <strong>for</strong> current<br />
amounts);<br />
• Original financial support documents (bank documents) showing proof of possession of adequate funds;<br />
• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): applicants <strong>for</strong> whom English is not a native language must<br />
submit an official copy of their TOEFL score. Testing in<strong>for</strong>mation may be obtained at www.toefl.org or by<br />
writing to TOEFL, Box 899, Princeton, NJ 08504. For all degree programs, the minimum required TOEFL<br />
score is 500 (paper based), 173 (computer based), or 61 (internet based);<br />
• Proof of health insurance: a valid <strong>and</strong> unexpired policy which provides coverage in the United States;<br />
• A copy of a valid passport, including name, date of birth, passport number, expiration date, photo, <strong>and</strong><br />
signature.<br />
Please submit all supporting documentation, preferably six months prior to expected enrollment <strong>and</strong> no later<br />
than sixty (60) days prior to the start of the term.<br />
All <strong>for</strong>eign academic transcripts are to be evaluated by World Educational Services (WES), with an original of the<br />
evaluation <strong>and</strong> copy of transcripts <strong>for</strong>warded directly to the Office of Admission.<br />
The Office of Admissions will evaluate the application materials, <strong>and</strong> if accepted, will issue a Form I-20,<br />
“Certificate of Eligibility <strong>for</strong> Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status –For Academic <strong>and</strong> Language Students.” The<br />
Form I-20 is necessary <strong>for</strong> applying <strong>for</strong> a nonimmigrant visa. Please allow <strong>for</strong> at least four weeks to apply <strong>for</strong> a<br />
visa.<br />
International students must comply with the laws, rules <strong>and</strong> regulations of the United States Citizenship <strong>and</strong><br />
Immigration Services (USCIS).<br />
Financial Aid<br />
Southern Cali<strong>for</strong>nia University of Health Sciences assists students <strong>and</strong> their families as fully as possible to af<strong>for</strong>d<br />
their education. Financial aid is money awarded to supplement what a student’s family can provide. All students<br />
admitted to a degree or certificate program may apply <strong>for</strong> financial aid. All student financial aid (institutional<br />
<strong>and</strong> federal aid) is administered by <strong>and</strong> coordinated through the Financial Aid Office, located in OneStop<br />

Federal Financial Aid<br />
U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens (see https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/glossary) are required to complete the<br />
Free Application <strong>for</strong> Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year they seek financial aid (direct loan, federal workstudy,<br />
<strong>and</strong>/or grants). The in<strong>for</strong>mation provided is used to create an analysis of each student’s financial ability to<br />
contribute toward his or her educational costs. Students may complete the FAFSA application at<br />
www.fafsa.ed.gov. The SCU FAFSA code is 001229. The Financial Aid Office may require <strong>for</strong>ms in addition the<br />
FAFSA. Please contact the Financial Aid Office <strong>for</strong> assistance in determining the appropriate financial aid <strong>for</strong>ms.<br />
While there is no deadline to apply <strong>for</strong> financial aid, <strong>and</strong> students are allowed to apply throughout the academic<br />
year, resources are limited <strong>and</strong> are awarded on a first come, first served basis. Students are encouraged to apply<br />
