ADX903 – Clinical Science/Medicine III<br />

This course covers the etiology, epidemiology, patho-physiology, diagnosis <strong>and</strong> treatment of pulmonary,<br />
infectious, hematological, gynecological/obstetrical, pediatrics, ENT <strong>and</strong> dermatological disorders, or<br />
equivalent as determined by instructor, department chair, <strong>and</strong>/or dean.<br />

ADX1010 – Advanced Case Studies<br />
Units: 2<br />
The culmination of didactic <strong>and</strong> clinical education, this course reviews previous material in a comprehensive,<br />
case-based <strong>for</strong>mat utilizing team-based learning <strong>and</strong> presentation. Students will present <strong>and</strong> be provided with<br />
comprehensive case histories from which they will determine appropriate diagnostic techniques, make<br />
diagnoses, <strong>and</strong> develop treatment plans with consideration of an integrative healthcare team. Students will<br />
learn to write case studies <strong>for</strong> publication.<br />

ADX1610 – Life Cycles<br />
Units: 2<br />
In this course students review human life cycles from birth to natural death, developmental <strong>and</strong> nutritional<br />
needs, <strong>and</strong> the process of aging. Students will discuss the aspects of treating patients from infancy through<br />
adolescence, adulthood, <strong>and</strong> the elderly.<br />

ADX1710 – Integrated Clinical Medicine I<br />
Units: 3<br />
This course covers internal medicine from an integrated perspective. Students will learn to recognize signs<br />
<strong>and</strong> symptoms from an OM perspective; make differential diagnosis in both Oriental <strong>and</strong> Western medical<br />
conditions, <strong>and</strong> develop a treatment plan including acupuncture, herbal prescriptions, lab <strong>and</strong> diagnostic<br />
imaging, <strong>and</strong> appropriate referrals. Included are respiratory, gastroenterology, cardiovascular, pediatric, <strong>and</strong><br />
geriatric diseases, pharmacology, surgery, radiology, nutrition <strong>and</strong> public health.<br />

ADX1720 – Basics of Oncology<br />
Units: 2<br />
This course focuses on cancer development <strong>and</strong> treatments currently applied in biomedical settings. Students<br />
will learn a variety of cancers, their causes <strong>and</strong> pathophysiologies, as well as exploring surgical, chemical, <strong>and</strong><br />
radiological treatment options. Students will incorporate OM theories <strong>and</strong> treatment principles, including<br />
herbal therapies <strong>for</strong> cancer treatment.<br />
