The composition analysis highlights the following issues:-
• Up to 59.6% of the total residual waste deposited can be recycled through
full use of the existing facilities in place.
• Up to 19.8% of the total residual waste deposited can be recycled or reused
but will require improvements to the existing facilities and the
introduction of additional facilities.
• 20.63% of the total residual waste cannot readily be recycled.
4.5.3 Commercial Collections
Due to the relative small amount of waste collected from businesses through
the commercial collection service direct analysis has not been undertaken for
the residual waste. However national studies have indicated the following
composition set out in table 4.5 as typical.
