ANKARA- The highest level official Iraqi<br />
dcJegation to visit Turkey since the Gulf War<br />
is expecled to arrive in Ankara after the new<br />
year for technicaltalks, a senior Turkish oflicial<br />
said on Wednesday.<br />
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ferhat Ataman<br />
said the exact date of the visit, and the names<br />
of Ihe Iraqi officials to come to Ankara, had<br />
not y<strong>et</strong> been sel, but notedthat contacts on the'<br />

coming into being in northern Iraq. Officials<br />
said Ankara was uncomfortable<br />
with the authority vacuum in the region<br />
a.nd :-vo~]d repeat its support for the terntonal<br />

Press quoted a Turkish official as sa-<br />
.ying that Turkey would also recom-<br />
,mend that Iraq open a dialogue with the<br />
Kurds and comply with U.N. Gulf war<br />
:resolutions, and thus bring an end to the<br />
'international economic embargo on their<br />
country. Turkey has been trying to<br />
persua<strong>de</strong> the United Nations to allow it<br />
to receive Iraqi oil imports.<br />

En visite en Syrie, M. Talabani<br />
