Programul mindfulness de reducere a stressului<strong>Dr</strong>. Jon Kabat-Zinn de la Centrul medical al Universitatii din Massachusetts, SUA,a dezvoltat, incepand din 1979, programul mindfulness de reducere a stressului. Aceastprogram a fost gandit ca un ingredient complimentar si alternativ la practicile medicalesomatice care se adresau unor tulburari psihosomatice, precum hipertensiunea arteriala,insuficienta coronariana cronica sau altor tulburari dizabilitante cronice, precum durereacronica (Kabat-Zinn, 2005) 252 Aplicarea acestui program a condus la rezultatespectaculoase precum reducerea starilor emotionale, reducerea medicamentatiei, reducereazileleor de spitalizare, cresterea capacitatii functionale, cresterea bunastarii fizice si psihice.Astfel, acest program a devenit o practica de sine statatoare in tratarea tulburarilor cronicegenerate de stress sau in cazul tulburarilor depresive sau anxioase.Program de reducere a stressului b azat pe tehnica mindfulness este manualizat si sederuleaza pe parcursul a 8 saptamani si are la baza tehnici imprumutate din practicilemindfulness si din practicile yoga. Programul consta in introducerea graduala, saptamanala,a unor noi tehnici de mindfulness. Aceste tehnici au ca scop dezvoltarea capacitatii deatentie de la un obiect la altul. Apoi se trece la tehnica scanarii corpului in care atentia estemutata spre corpul propriu, precum atentia fata de respiratie, atentia fata de senzatiilecorpului si posturii, ca mai apoi sa se treaca la atentia asupra gandurilor si emotiilor.
