SUM MARY: In this pa per the aut hor analyses the exi sten ce of bi lin gu a lism
in Ro ma nian lin gu i stic spa ce and po ints out the hi sto ri cal de ve lop ment of
the con tem po rary Ro ma nian lan gu a ge from the 17. to the 19. cen tury. The
pa per com pri ses three parts. The first part ex po unds the re a sons for the establis
hment of lin gu i stic con tacts bet we en Slavs and Ro ma ni ans, the se cond
di scus ses the in flu en ces of the Sla vic lan gu a ge to the Ro ma nian whilst in the
third the aut hor chro no lo gi cally lists all the at tempts to li be ra te Ro ma nian
le xi con from Sla vi cisms.
