Five years ago, four hotel<br />

owners founded the association<br />

Kulinarik & Kunst<br />

in <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Anton</strong> <strong>am</strong> <strong>Arlberg</strong>.<br />

Their central idea: quality<br />

and highest standards<br />

packed in a unique event<br />

that mixed cuisine and art<br />

and was supposed to <strong>am</strong>aze<br />

numerous <strong>Arlberg</strong>-guests in<br />

summer. Between August 17<br />

and September 9 2018 the<br />

festival will take place for<br />

the fourth time in the world-f<strong>am</strong>ous<br />

skiing area and by<br />

now it has become a culinary<br />

and artistic highlight.<br />

New events<br />

One of the highlights is Gourmet Gondel Gipfelsturm<br />

– a cable car ride with six award-winning<br />

chefs, accompanied by Gérard Depardieu and<br />

Eckart Witzigmann – but this year it certainly is<br />

not the only one, there are numerous new events<br />

for a broader public. The 1st <strong>Arlberg</strong> Genuss C<strong>am</strong>pus<br />

enables participants to try signature dishes<br />

by 18 international star chefs, winemakers from<br />

Austria and abroad, as well as international bartenders<br />

in huts and at stalls. On top of that there<br />

are producers from the region of Tyrol, Vorarlberg,<br />

Switzerland, and South Tyrol who all present<br />

high-class products that can be tried and, of<br />

course, bought by the guests. During the kitchen<br />

battle, however, it’ll be all about two te<strong>am</strong>s, each<br />

made up of five people and a star-chef, making<br />

a five-course meal for 40 people. Aside from<br />

that Kids & Chefs sees duels between te<strong>am</strong>s of<br />

kid-chefs under guidance<br />

of award-winning chef<br />

J<strong>am</strong>es Baron and the<br />

Swiss master chef Ralph<br />

Schelling – afterwards the<br />

parents will try the dishes<br />

and select a winning<br />

te<strong>am</strong>.<br />

Art meets cuisine<br />

This year’s artistic<br />

progr<strong>am</strong>me will be<br />

kicked off by Neo Hanno<br />

Rauch and the German<br />

neo-expressionist Elvira<br />

Bach as well as Nikolai<br />

Makarov from Moscow<br />

and Michel Würthle from<br />

Berlin. Aside from that
