Scherbenhaufen<br />
Kim Roether hat der Intersport den Rücken gekehrt.<br />
Dies bedeutet für die Verbundgruppe mehr<br />
als nur eine Personalie, es gleicht einer „Stunde Null“.<br />
Dabei ist es unerheblich, wie der Abgang letztlich<br />
zustande kam: Ob Mitglieder gegen den eingeschlagenen<br />
Weg opponiert haben. Ob der Aufsichtsrat, wie zu<br />
hören ist, beschlossen hatte, den auslaufenden Vertrag<br />
mit dem Vorstandsvorsitzenden nicht zu verlängern<br />
– und sich dann fragen lassen müsste, warum man<br />
vor vier Jahren ein funktionierendes Doppel-Vorstands-System<br />
für eine Neuausrichtung mit Roether<br />
gesprengt hatte. Oder ob Roether selbst hingeschmissen<br />
hat und/oder anschließend gegangen wurde,<br />
damit er nicht ein Jahr als Lame Duck eventuell die<br />
Verhandlungsposition der Verbundgruppe schwächt.<br />
Fakt ist, dass die Intersport mitten in einem Transformationsprozess<br />
steckt und Roether somit jede<br />
Menge Baustellen hinterlassen hat. Diese können<br />
ohne erheblichen finanziellen Aufwand weder zu<br />
Ende geführt noch umgekehrt werden kann.<br />
Bei nicht wenigen – auch größeren – Mitgliedern<br />
ist das Geschäft mittlerweile auf die sprichwörtliche<br />
Kante genäht. Diese Genossen und Systempartner wollen<br />
Antworten. Beispielsweise darauf, wann die – dem<br />

Kim Roether left Intersport. This is more<br />
than just a change of personnel for the retailer<br />
association. It’s like starting from the scratch. Yet,<br />
that is a fact and it does not matter what were the<br />
reasons for it: whether members rejected the chosen<br />
way or whether the Supervisory Board, as rumoured,<br />
decided not to extend the contract with the CEO. In<br />
this case, the Supervisory Board would have been<br />
asked why they had destroyed a successful dualleadership<br />
system four years ago for a realignment<br />
based on Roether. Or, is it possible that Roether<br />
himself gave up and/or was “asked” to resign in order<br />
not to weaken the negotiating position of the retailer<br />
association for one year as “lame duck”.<br />
It is a matter of fact that Intersport is in the<br />
middle of a transformation process and that<br />
Roether left many unfinished projects behind; and<br />
it is not possible to finish or reverse them without<br />
considerable financial expenditure.<br />
Vernehmen nach recht gut angelaufene – kooperative<br />
Händlerplattform und Warendrehscheibe stabil auf<br />
alle Mitglieder ausgerollt wird. Oder darauf, ob die –<br />
wohl eher schleppend angelaufene – „blaue“ Welt dem<br />
schwer kriselnden Unternehmen Voswinkel den Turn<br />
Around ermöglicht. Oder darauf, wie eine friedliche<br />
Koexistenz mit der Signa Sports Group aussehen soll,<br />
die mit ihrer aggressiven Ausrichtung so gar nicht in<br />
die „Intersport-Familie“ passen will. Und schließlich<br />
auch darauf, wie sich das internationale Geschäft<br />
weiterentwickelt, wenn die größte Länderorganisation<br />
innerhalb der IIC führungslos dahintaumelt.<br />
Die Mitglieder brauchen auf diese Probleme<br />
Antworten und nicht immer neue Fragen, weil es der<br />
Intersport an Führung mangelt. Neben dem Vorstandsvorsitzenden<br />
fehlt beispielsweise nach wie vor<br />
der Kopf der Mitgliederbetreuung. Auch der verwaiste<br />
Vorstandposten für Ware und Marketing wurde<br />
nicht neu besetzt. Vielmehr fand schon wieder eine<br />
Umstrukturierung statt.<br />
Unter diesen Voraussetzungen ist durch den Abgang<br />
von Kim Roether nur eines geblieben: Ein Scherbenhaufen.<br />
Der neue Vorstandsvorsitzende jedenfalls<br />
ist um seine Mammutaufgabe nicht zu beneiden.<br />

whether the Blue World concept – which had a quite<br />
slow start – will help the ailing company Voswinkel<br />
to make a successful turnaround. Or how a peaceful<br />
coexistence with the Signa Sports Group – which<br />
does not seem to fit into the “Intersport family”<br />
with its aggressive approach – is supposed to look<br />
like. And, finally, how the business will go on, when<br />
the biggest national organisation within the IIC<br />
stumbles around without leader.<br />
The associated retailers need solutions for these<br />
problems and not constantly new questions, since<br />
Intersport has no guidance . Apart from the CEO,<br />
there is, for example, still no person in charge<br />
for the member support; and also the deserted<br />
board seat for product and marketing has not been<br />
refilled so far. On the contrary, the organisation was<br />
restructured again.<br />

meanwhile become hard pressed. These associates<br />
and system partners demand answers; for example,<br />

Due to these circumstances, only one thing<br />
remains after the resignation of Kim Roether:<br />
shattered remains. Confronted with such a<br />
mammoth task, the new CEO is certainly in an<br />
unenviable position.
