was reflected in the agreed text for the Fourth CCW Review Conference. 89<br />

The Conference agreed on the following recommendations:<br />

Clearance, removal or destruction of ERW, and the Article 4 Generic<br />

Electronic Template<br />

• To continue the consideration of clearance, removal or destruction of<br />

ERW;<br />

• To further explore practical methods to enhance efficiency and<br />

effectiveness in ERW clearance programmes;<br />

• To encourage the High Contracting <strong>Part</strong>ies to include in their national<br />

reports detailed information on the implementation of article 4; and<br />

• To encourage States to share their experiences on methods of recording<br />

and retaining information on the use or abandonment of explosive<br />

ordnance.<br />

Cooperation and assistance and requests for assistance<br />

• To continue the consideration of cooperation and assistance as a priority<br />

issue;<br />

• To focus on the potential for cooperation among developing countries<br />

and among ERW-affected States, as well as for cooperation among<br />

providers of assistance;<br />

• To encourage High Contracting <strong>Part</strong>ies and international organizations<br />

and institutions to consider providing assistance in response to requests<br />

submitted under article 7 of the Protocol, or in response to needs<br />

identified in other ways; and<br />

• To encourage States that have submitted requests for assistance to<br />

continue to provide regular updates on the status of those requests.<br />

Generic preventive measures<br />

• To continue the practice of addressing one specific technical issue related<br />

to generic preventive measures;<br />

• To invite all High Contracting <strong>Part</strong>ies to share information during the<br />

2012 Meeting of Experts on their national technical approaches and<br />

experience in implementing article 9 and part 3 of the technical annex of<br />

Protocol V; and<br />

• To develop a <strong>web</strong> page on generic preventive measures on the UNODA<br />

<strong>web</strong>site for user-friendly access to declarations, presentations and<br />

guidelines, including other relevant sources of information, such as the<br />

International Ammunition Technical Guidelines.<br />
