Government of India and other sources as grants or otherwise for the purpose of
financing rural electrification in the country in general.
v) To promote organise or carry on the business of consultancy services and/or
project implementation in any field of activity in which it is engaged in India and
abroad.
vi) To finance and/or execute works on small/mini/micro generation projects,
promotion and development of other energy sources and to provide financial
assistance for leasing out or to directly lease out or otherwise the above sources
of energy including small/mini/micro generation projects.
vii) To finance survey and investigation of projects falling in the ambit of REC.
viii) To promote, develop and finance viable decentralised power system organisations
in cooperative, joint, private sector, panchayat and/or local self bodies.
11.6.2 SOURCES OF FUNDING
As on 31.3.98 the authorised Share Capital of the Corporation is Rs.800 crore and
Equity Capital Rs.630.60 crore. The entire Equity Capital of the Corporation has been
subscribed by the Government. The cumulative funds position of the Corporation as on
31.3.98 and anticipated up to 31.3.99 is given below:
