PERFORMANCE BUDGET 1998-99 - Ministry of Power

The following external assistance is available for the project:i)
Grant of UK Govt. Pound 63 million.
ii) West Merchant Bank, UK Pound 59 million.
iii) Credit Nationale, France - Soft loan - FF 172 million
iv) Banque indosuez, France-Commercial Credit-FF 64 million
v) Banque indosuez, France-Commercial Credit-FF159 million
The project has been completed and under commercial operation since November,
1997.
3.8 JEYPORE-GAZUWAKA HVDC BACK TO BACK TRANSMISSION PROJECT:
The Jeypore-Gazuwaka HVDC Back to Back Transmission Project (1x500 MW) was
approved in February, 1995. The project is an inter-regional transmission project to
link Eastern Region and Southern Region of the country. The scope of project is as
follows:-
1. HVDC Back to Back station (1x500 MW) at Gazuwaka.
2. Jeypore-Gazuwaka 400 KV D/C line (225 Kms.)
3. Extension of associated sub-stations/terminal bays.
The external assistance of 41.52 million Pound from West Merchant Bank, UK is
available for HVDC Back to Back station. External assistance from ADB is also available
for the transmission line and AC sub station. The major awards for 400 KV D/C Jeypore-
Gazuwaka line and associated sub-station has already been made. Foundation, tower
erection and stringing works in line and civil work of sub-station are in progress. The
award of HVDC Back to Back station has already been made and civil works are in
progress. The project is expected to be completed by 02/99.
3.9 RAJASTHAN ATOMIC POWER PROJECT- B (RAPP-B) TRANSMISSION
SYSTEM
The Transmission line for evacuation of power from Rajasthan Atomic Power
Project - B (2x220 MW) was approved in September, 1995. RAPP-B-KOTA 220 KV
SC(LILO) has already been completed in Jan’95 and RAPP - B- Chittorgarh line has
been completed in December 1997 and Udaipur line work are in progress. The contract
for RAPPB - Anta line is expected to be awarded by the end of 04/98. The project is
expected to be completed by 03/99.
