PERFORMANCE BUDGET 1998-99 - Ministry of Power

i) Updated ‘EGEAS’ and ‘ISPLAN’ have been procured;
ii) Training of 10 officers (9 from CEA and one from Planning Commission) on
updated CGEAS model in USA for 3 weeks has been completed;
iii) Training of 12 CEA officers on updated ISPLAN model for four weeks in
London, UK has been completed;
iv) Visits of Senior officers for CEA and Min. of Power to USA and UK during
the training programme have been completed;
v) Procurement of Hardware and associated equipment has been completed.
vi) Visit of two consultants for eight working days each from Stone & Webster
Management Consultants Inc., USA in respect of EGEAS model
commissioning on new CEA hardware has been completed;
vii) Visit of consultant for 10 days from International Development and Energy
Associates, United Kingdom in respect of ISPLAN model commissioning on
new CEA hardware has been completed;
viii) Completion of networking of new computer system of Planning Wing by the
suppliers has been completed;
2.8.3 Target for the year 1998-99:
1. Action for the procurement of Multisym module of already acquired Prosym
software and training of CEA officers/visits of senior officers of CEA is in
progress;
2. All the balance activities of the World Bank Assisted scheme including
payment of bills of Softwares and hardware suppliers are planned for
completion by September,1998;
3. Bringing out of Fuel Map of the country using the newly acquired softwares
viz. EGEAS and ISPLAN models based on latest data base;
4. Power absorption studies will be continued;
5. Detailed Transmission Planning studies will be continued;
6. Power absorption studies of various newly proposed power projects would be
continued;
7. Detailed computer studies for bringing out 5th National Power Plan covering
the period from the year 2002 to 2017.
