The Capacity Addition programme of NTPC for 1998-99 is as under:-

The capital expenditure incurred during 1997-98 is Rs.1504.95 crore (tentative) against
the Revised Estimates 1997-98 of Rs.1576.58 crore.
Further, NTPC has generated 106291 MUs of electricity during the year 1997-98 against
the previous year generation of 97609 MUs and the coal stations of NTPC registered a
PLF of 75.2%. NTPC has plans to generate 99001 Mus during 1998-99.
11.1.3 JOINT VENTURE PARTICIPATION BY NTPC:
(a) Spectrum Power Generation Limited
NTPC has co-promoted Godavari Gas Power Project (207 MW) Duel Fuel fired
combined cycle power project at Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, along with Spectrum
Technologies, USA (STUSA) and Jaya Food Industries (JFI), Hyderabad to form
Spectrum Power Generation Limited. NTPC is the technical consultants to the project.
Three gas turbines have already been commissioned in May 1998. Owing to disputes
arising out of non-compliance of the promoters agreement, NTPC has initiated legal
proceedings against the co-promoters in the Delhi High Court. The judgement is awaited.
