3.3 KISHENPUR - MOGA TRANSMISSION SYSTEM The Kishenpur-Moga 800 KV Transmission system was approved by Government in May.’93. The world Bank assistance is available for this project. The Transmission system envisaged the construction of Kishenpur-Moga 2 X S/C of 800 KV line associated terminal equipments at Kishenpur and Moga. The Kishenpur-Moga (2 X S/C) transmission line along with the associated substation are expected to be commissioned in ’03/2000. 3.4 KATHALGURI TRANSMISSION SYSTEM The Kathalguri Transmission System has been designed to evacuate power from Kathalguri combined cycle power project as well as from the existing power projects and new projects like Doyang, Ranganadi etc., in the North Eastern Region. All the transmission lines and associated sub station shall be completed by 03/99. The actual expenditure upto 1996-97 is Rs.79096 lakh. The BE / RE 1997-98 and BE 1998-99 are Rs.9537 lakh/Rs.9170 lakh & Rs.4344 lakh respectively. 3.5 VINDHYACHAL ADDITIONAL TRANSMISSION LINES PROJECT The Vindhyachal Additional Transmission lines project was approved in May 1989 for evacuation of power from Vindhyachal STPP Stage-I (1260 MW). The World Bank assistance of Rs.350 million is mainly available for this project. All the transmission lines and associated sub station has been completed and successfully test charged on 15.12.97. The line is presently under commercial operation. 3.6 FEROZ GANDHI UNCHAHAR STAGE - II TRANSMISSION SYSTEM The Unchahar Transmission system stage - II was approved by Government in April 1996. All packages have been awarded and supplies commenced. Foundation and Erection works are in progress. Transmission lines and associated sub station shall be completed by 01/2000 matching with evacuation requirement. The actual work on this transmission line is started during the financial year 1997-98. 3.7 CHANDRAPUR HVDC BACK TO BACK PROJECT The Chandrapur HVDC Back to Back project was approved by Govt. of India in November 1993 with an approved cost of Rs.900.28 crore. The scope of the project is as follows:- 1. HVDC Back to Back station of 1000 MW(2 x 500 MW) at Chandrapur. 2. 400 KV single circuit Ac Tr. line between Hyderabad and Ramagundam. 118
The following external assistance is available for the project:i) Grant of UK Govt. Pound 63 million. ii) West Merchant Bank, UK Pound 59 million. iii) Credit Nationale, France - Soft loan - FF 172 million iv) Banque indosuez, France-Commercial Credit-FF 64 million v) Banque indosuez, France-Commercial Credit-FF159 million The project has been completed and under commercial operation since November, 1997. 3.8 JEYPORE-GAZUWAKA HVDC BACK TO BACK TRANSMISSION PROJECT: The Jeypore-Gazuwaka HVDC Back to Back Transmission Project (1x500 MW) was approved in February, 1995. The project is an inter-regional transmission project to link Eastern Region and Southern Region of the country. The scope of project is as follows:- 1. HVDC Back to Back station (1x500 MW) at Gazuwaka. 2. Jeypore-Gazuwaka 400 KV D/C line (225 Kms.) 3. Extension of associated sub-stations/terminal bays. The external assistance of 41.52 million Pound from West Merchant Bank, UK is available for HVDC Back to Back station. External assistance from ADB is also available for the transmission line and AC sub station. The major awards for 400 KV D/C Jeypore- Gazuwaka line and associated sub-station has already been made. Foundation, tower erection and stringing works in line and civil work of sub-station are in progress. The award of HVDC Back to Back station has already been made and civil works are in progress. The project is expected to be completed by 02/99. 3.9 RAJASTHAN ATOMIC POWER PROJECT- B (RAPP-B) TRANSMISSION SYSTEM The Transmission line for evacuation of power from Rajasthan Atomic Power Project - B (2x220 MW) was approved in September, 1995. RAPP-B-KOTA 220 KV SC(LILO) has already been completed in Jan’95 and RAPP - B- Chittorgarh line has been completed in December 1997 and Udaipur line work are in progress. The contract for RAPPB - Anta line is expected to be awarded by the end of 04/98. The project is expected to be completed by 03/99. 119
