Cultural Factors<br />

Culture means shared beliefs, values, norms and moral by people. Organizational<br />

culture means a pervasive underlying set <strong>of</strong> beliefs, assumptions, values, shared feelings<br />

and perceptions. Indian technical people placed by MNCs in various countries should<br />

adopt to the culture and custom prevailing there.<br />

Individualism<br />

In simple terms, individualism means the degree <strong>of</strong> preference <strong>of</strong> individuals<br />

expected to look after themselves and their immediate families. Just reverse is<br />

collectivism. Personnel should come out <strong>of</strong> the shell and know to make collective living<br />

culture.<br />

Compensation<br />

The standard <strong>of</strong> living and style <strong>of</strong> living will differ. MNCs cannot differentiate<br />

pay to the same category on the ground that they are from different nationals. The<br />

perquisites should be the same to all. The company would like all their personnel to follow<br />

the same corporate culture that is in observance.<br />

Labour Relations Factors<br />

Labour relations or industrial relations are bound to differ between different<br />

countries. MNC having its operation in different countries should take into consideration<br />

the labour relations prevailing in that country.<br />

Recruitment, Selection and Training<br />

MNCs have to be critical and choosy in their selection taking into consideration its<br />

existing standard and style. Separate training programme for different nationals in<br />

employment may be needed.<br />

Communication Skill<br />

This aspect is important for the personnel employed in MNC placed in different<br />

countries. Special training in communication perfection may be needed.<br />
