dau. of Luke <strong>and</strong> Matilda Barney, of Auburn, Ohio; 2d,<br />

Oct. 27, 1864, Winnie C, dau. of Wheeler <strong>and</strong> Sarah<br />

(Alden) Gray, of Middlerleld, Ohio. He lived in Clevel<strong>and</strong>,<br />

Ohio, but removed, in 1865, to Centralia, Marion<br />

Co., 111. He is a machinist.<br />

He has held the office of school director for over nine years.<br />

<strong>The</strong> children of Marcus A. <strong>and</strong> Winnie C. (Gray) Earl<br />

Y. ; m. Dec. 31, 1839, Francis S. (b. Feb. 17, 1822),<br />

son of Rev. Benajah <strong>and</strong> Jerusha Williams, of Chagrin<br />

Falls, Ohio. <strong>The</strong>y lived in Wheeling, Va., <strong>and</strong> West<br />

Va. ; removed in 1875 to Macon City, Mo., <strong>and</strong> thence<br />

in 1882 to Minneapolis, Minn.<br />

Mr. Williams has been an educator by profession ; he was for<br />

twenty-five years connected with the schools of Wheeling, <strong>and</strong><br />

resigned <strong>his</strong> position as superintendent on account of impaired health<br />

in 1875, immediately after having been re-elected for another term.
