Slade A. <strong>and</strong> Fanny R. (Mathews) <strong>Earle</strong>, b. July 29,<br />

1840, in N. Brookfield, Mass.; m. Nov. 25, 1867, H.<br />

Amelia, dau. of John D. <strong>and</strong> Louise M. Hopkins, of<br />

Lyndon, Vt. <strong>The</strong>y live in West Somerville, Mass., <strong>and</strong><br />

he is a salesman.<br />

He was a private in the 46th Regiment, Co. C, Mass. Vols.<br />

enlisted Aug. 22, 1862, for nine months, <strong>and</strong> was mustered Oct. 15,<br />

1862. He was in the battles of Southwest Creek, Kinston, White-<br />

hall, Gum Swamp <strong>and</strong> Cove Creek. He was discharged at the<br />

expiration of service, July 29, 1863.<br />

<strong>The</strong> children of Israel C. <strong>and</strong> H. Amelia (Hopkins) <strong>Earle</strong><br />

1842, in N. Brookfield, Mass.; m. Jan. 1, 1873, Edwin<br />

M., son of Ezra A. <strong>and</strong> Sarepta Tucker, of West Boyl-<br />

ston, Mass., <strong>and</strong> lives in N. Brookfield.<br />

Nova Scotia. <strong>The</strong>y live in San Francisco, Cal., <strong>and</strong> he<br />

is superintendent of <strong>his</strong> brother Slade's shoe-factory.<br />

He enlisted for three years <strong>and</strong> was mustered Aug. 13, 1862, as a<br />

private in the 15th Regiment, Mass. Vols. He was in the battles of<br />
