March 8. 1749, in Leicester, Mass. ; m. 1772, Elizabeth<br />

(b. June 22, 1755; d. Nov. 3, 1840), dau. of Jonas <strong>and</strong><br />

Rebecca (Richardson) Newton, of Paxton, Mass.<br />

resided in Paxton, <strong>and</strong> d. May 29, 1839.<br />

He was a farmer, <strong>and</strong> <strong>his</strong> homestead was on the county road to<br />

Barre, about a mile northwest of Paxton centre. He <strong>and</strong> <strong>his</strong> wife<br />

retained their membership of the Society of Friends during life, <strong>and</strong><br />

were buried in that Society's cemetery in Leicester. No one of the<br />

children belonged to the Society.<br />
