TIP
4.7.2. ClearPath OS 2200 Release 13.2
A new TPM selection bit named “L$DLCK” is defined which, if enabled, will result in a
new TPM log entry (type 015, subtype 011) being created if an FCSS deadlock condition
occurs on the system. For more information regarding the FCSS Deadlock TPM Record,
see Exec PLE 18853639.
4.7.3. ClearPath OS 2200 Release 13.1
A new TIP FLAGBOX bit named “SUPURLOG” is defined which, if enabled, will result in
commands processed by the TIP utility SUPUR being logged to the system log trail (log
entry type 16005). The new log entries will identify the run (userid) that performed the
SUPUR command, the SUPUR command and TIP/SUPUR file involved, the completion
status of the SUPUR command, and SUPUR command output text. For more information
about SUPUR command logging, see PLEs 18769981 and 18769999.
The TIP utility FREIPS can now be used to identify (select and display) TIP files which
have been designated by UDS as UDS controlled (UDSC) files. For more information
about UDS controlled files, see PLEs 18784432 and 18785528.
A new TIP Freespace dynamic configuration tag named “RLAUTO” is defined which, if
enabled, will cause the period of time between Freespace deferred release processing
executions (specified by the Freespace configuration tag “RLFQ”) to vary based on the
volume of deferred releases being generated on the system. For more information about
the Freespace “RLAUTO” configuration tag, see PLEs 18787288 and 18789698.
TIP console (“TP”) keyins that display information based on transaction codes or names
now allow the specification of an optional step control application group number. This
limits the amount of system console output generated when information about a specific
application group is desired. For more information about the new “TP” keyin field and its
use, see PLE 18809371.
4.7.4. ClearPath OS 2200 Release 13.0
A new TIP Freespace file attribute called FCL (FCode Locking) is defined. This attribute
can be specified when a Freespace file is created (FREIPS CRE command) or
dynamically via the FREIPS change (CHA) command. The default value of the FCL
attribute is permitted (FCL=P) which causes FCSS locking of Freespace records to be
performed as part of a released recoverable Freespace record’s FCODE (as was always
done in previous EXEC levels). If the FCL attribute of a Freespace file is set to inhibited
(FCL=I), no FCSS locking is done for recoverable Freespace records as part of the
FCODE performed during deferred release processing. In XTC environments this avoids
two trips to the XPC-L (lock/unlock) for each Freespace record FCODE which can
substantially reduce the time and overhead required for Freespace deferred release
processing on a system.
For more information about the TIP Freespace file FCL attribute see PLE 18746573.
