General Exec Considerations
• The Audit Trail Descriptor (ATD) version has been increased to 021 due to
reformatting changes in the ATD. This version change will force ALL audit trails on
the system to be closed on the initial crossboot to this EXEC level. The following
message will be displayed for each configured audit trail:
AT n *VERSION MISMATCH: ARF – 0xx EXEC – 021*
where n is the trail number and xx is the version number recovered from the ARF
(from the previous EXEC level). These audit trails will then be recovered from the
MCT to a closed state. This will force all Stepcontrol applications to do an SUTIL
recovery (PANIC and REBUILD recovery options will not be possible).
4.1.5. LIBSAVE/LIBLOAD Scenario
Communications Platform for Open Systems (CPCommOS) is a new communications
product introduced with ClearPath Dorado 400 and 4000/4100/4200 Server systems.
Dorado 300, 700, and 800 Server systems continue to use the CPComm
communications product.
To perform a LIBLOAD between a Dorado 300, 700, or 800 Server system and a
ClearPath Dorado 400, 4000, 4100, or 4200 Server system, the correct communications
product must be installed after the LIBLOAD is completed. See PLE 18483131 for
required CPComm changes.
To install the applicable communications product, perform the following steps:
1. Perform LIBSAVE on system A.
2. Perform LIBLOAD on system B.
3. Use SOLAR to register the system B software product key tape.
4. Install the correct communications product on system B.
• CPComm for Dorado 300, 700, and 800 systems is on package tape
CP-COMMSUITE.
• CPCommOS for Dorado 400, 4000, 4100, and 4200 Server systems is on
package tape CP-COMMSUITE.
Note: The communications configuration file is not included in the LIBSAV.
4.1.6. I/O COMMAND QUEUING (IOCQ)
I/O Command Queuing (IOCQ) can greatly improve disk performance. IOCQ allows
multiple I/Os to be performed on the same logical disk at the same time. This can reduce
the amount of queuing and the time needed to complete I/Os, which reduces the I/O
existence time, and potentially, overall transaction existence time.
Prior to IOCQ, the OS 2200 allowed only one I/O to be active to a logical disk. If an I/O
was active to a logical disk, any subsequent I/Os were queued in OS 2200 until the
active I/O completed.
