WebSphere® MQ Version 7 for <strong>ClearPath</strong> <strong>OS</strong> <strong>2200</strong> (WMQ<strong>2200</strong>)<br />

If you are also updating your Linux System <strong>Software</strong> image, make sure to use one of the<br />

following options to save your queue manager objects <strong>and</strong> data before updating your<br />

image <strong>and</strong> your WMQ<strong>2200</strong> level:<br />

• Option 1: Backup <strong>and</strong> restore your queue manager objects <strong>and</strong> data using unx shell<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>s<br />

1. Backup your queue manager objects <strong>and</strong> data using the mqsave unx shell<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

2. Update the Linux System <strong>Software</strong> image<br />

3. Install new level of WMQ<strong>2200</strong><br />

4. Restore your queue manager objects using the mqload unx shell comm<strong>and</strong><br />

• Option 2: Use the <strong>OS</strong> <strong>2200</strong> Administration Console Filesystem Backup feature<br />

1. Use the <strong>OS</strong> <strong>2200</strong> Administration Console Filesystem Backup module to backup a<br />

profile that includes your /var/mqm directory to the <strong>OS</strong> <strong>2200</strong> or an external disk<br />

2. Update the Linux System <strong>Software</strong><br />

3. Install new level of WMQ<strong>2200</strong><br />

4. Restore your queue manager objects using the Filesystem Backup module<br />

<strong>ClearPath</strong> <strong>OS</strong> <strong>2200</strong> <strong>Release</strong> 13.1<br />

WMQ<strong>2200</strong> Level 7R0<br />

Compatibility<br />

WMQ<strong>2200</strong> is based on IBM® WebSphere MQ Version 7.0 <strong>and</strong> is a compatible follow-on<br />

to IBM MQ<strong>Series</strong> Version 5.2 (MQS<strong>2200</strong>). Where specific differences exist, they are<br />

documented in the user documentation provided. Refer to the WebSphere MQ Version 7<br />

for <strong>ClearPath</strong> <strong>OS</strong> <strong>2200</strong> Installation, Administration, <strong>and</strong> Programming Guide for more<br />

information.<br />

WMQ<strong>2200</strong> 7R0 is paired with QProcessor 2.0. Using WMQ<strong>2200</strong> 7R0 on any QProcessor<br />

version earlier than 2.0, or using QProcessor 2.0 with any WMQ<strong>2200</strong> version earlier than<br />

7R0 is not supported.<br />

Migration<br />

Migration scenarios exist for customers migrating from MQ<strong>Series</strong> for <strong>ClearPath</strong> <strong>OS</strong> <strong>2200</strong><br />

(MQS<strong>2200</strong>) to IBM WebSphere MQ Version 7.0 (WMQ<strong>2200</strong>).<br />

Upgrading from a previous level of WMQ<strong>2200</strong> to WMQ<strong>2200</strong> Version 7.0 is also<br />

supported. To do this it is required that you install the QProcessor 2.0 image on your<br />

QProcessor specialty engine before installing WMQ<strong>2200</strong> 7R0.<br />
