Considerations
ClearPath OS 2200 Release 12.1
• The System Release Profile (SRP) identifier for this release is CP-OS-2200-12.1
• UCFs pertaining to general release issues should be submitted against product
OS-2200-SBR level 12.1.
• This release includes the changes associated with EXEC PLE 18730588. The solution
implemented by this PLE introduces a potential compatibility issue for sites using
both SENTRY_CONTROL and Run-level Quota enforcement (EXEC configuration
parameter ACCTON set to 4). Users on those systems who were formerly able to
create G-option files may in some cases no longer be allowed to do so. Sites using
Fundamental Security or those with EXEC configuration parameter ACCTON set to
any value less than 4 are not affected. A further explanation of this issue can be
found in “General Exec Considerations” in Section 4.
• Exec Level 48R6
The Exec level 48R5 was delivered with the ClearPath OS 2200 12.0 Plus release.
The Exec level 48R6 is delivered with the ClearPath OS 2200 12.1 Release.
• Dorado 4000 plateau requirement
With ClearPath Release 12.1, the Dorado 4000 systems require Plateau 2.1 and an
additional Compatibility Package due to dependencies with the CPCommOS 3R1A
product. Refer to “Migration for Dorado 4000” in Section 7 for Dorado 4000
migration information and “3.12 ClearPath and Plateau Interdependencies” for
additional plateau information.
• Dorado 400 considerations
The CPCommOS 3R1A product delivered in the CleaPath OS 2200 Release 12.1 will
not run on a Dorado 400 system. Do not use the ClearPath OS 2200 Release 12.1
CP-FLD fast load tape or the CPCommOS 3R1A product that is delivered on the
package tape CP-COMMSUITE.
The Dorado 400 systems must use the CPCommOS 2R2 product that was delivered
in ClearPath OS 2200 Release 12.0. For your convenience, Unisys has created a new
CP-FLD400 fast load tape that contains the CPCommOS 2R2 level instead of
CPCommOS 3R1A.
• CPCommOS considerations
Configuring network interfaces is moved from SAILCC to CPCommOS. Refer to
”Communications Platform for Open Systems (CPCommOS)”in Section 5 for a
detailed description on migrating to CPCommOS 3R1A prior to installing ClearPath
OS 2200 Release 12.1.
Additional CMS 1100 to CPCommOS migration modes are added. In addition, mode
A no longer installs mode CMSA-CPCA automatically. Refer to the Communications
Platform for Open Systems Configuration and Operations Guide for more
information.
• Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) support
The implementation of the IPv6 standard is introduced in the ClearPath OS 2200
Release 12.1. Many products have updated to support this new feature. Refer to
“3.2 Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) Support” for additional product details.
