TIP
A new TPM (TIP Performance Monitor) log entry is defined with a TPM collection
bit/name of L$FSRL. If the L$FSRL collection bit is enabled on a system with TPM
logging enabled, a new TPM system record type 015 subtype 010 is generated as part of
Freespace deferred release processing. The L$FSRL TPM record contains information
regarding the number of Freespace records processed and the amount of time required
by the Freespace deferred release processing activity on the system.
For more information about the TPM L$FSRL log entry see PLE 18755882.
4.7.5. ClearPath OS 2200 Release 12.1
A new TIP VALTAB parameter is defined. The new optional TIME (TIM) TIP VALTAB
parameter indicates the maximum wall clock time of a TIP transaction in seconds. If a
nonzero VALTAB TIME parameter is specified for a TIP transaction and a copy of the
transaction remains active on the system for more than the specified number of
seconds, the default action is to display the following read-and-reply system console
message:
*TIP* Runid *xxxxxx (zzzzzz) exceeds maximum wall clock time. Abort? Y/N/D
where
*xxxxxx
zzzzzz
is the RUNID of the transaction
is the corresponding transaction code
The actions for the valid responses of “Y” (Yes), “N” (No) and “D” (Dump) are as
follows:
Y An “E” keyin will be performed to abort the transaction.
N No attempt will be made to abort the transaction. No further
checking/selection of this transaction copy will be performed.
D An “E” keyin will be performed to abort the transaction. An attempt to
obtain TIP diagnostic information will be made regardless of the current
setting of the TIP FLAGBOX bit TIPTRACE on the system.
