1.7 Research and Report Structure
Using GT structures, the research and the report accordingly.
• To determine what PMSs are being used by MFIs throughout the world, further
discussion on the sustainability of MFIs and the role of PMSs is held through a
literature review in chapter 2.
• As a result of the initial research, it is expected that Dutch MFIs can move
towards sustainability by the use of appropriate PMSs. This needs to be
confirmed by an extended literature review. In addition, the literature review
needs to shed light on what particular PMS can be used, in order to have to
optimal impact. This step will be described in chapter 3.
• Chapter 4 covers the research design, which discusses and explains all the
steps that will be taken in order to come to a valid, reliable and replicable
conclusion at the end of this thesis.
• After the design, the research is performed. Chapter 5 describes the findings
from the research. This is done accordingly to the categories as they were
developed during the research.
• In chapter 6, a discussion is held on the different categories developed during
the research. The empirical findings are compared to the findings from the
literature.
• Chapter 7 concludes this research by summarizing the major findings and
identifying the research opportunities for the future.
