GLOSSARY<br />

Activation - The expenditure <strong>of</strong> Plot Points in order to empower a character to alter the fabric <strong>of</strong> an Episode's<br />

plotline.<br />

Conflict - see Drama.<br />

Distributed Directing- Blurring the lines between the roles <strong>of</strong> Actor and Director, allowing the Actors to take control<br />

<strong>of</strong> portions <strong>of</strong> the plot.<br />

Downtime - The time that occurs between Episodes.<br />

Drama - see Conflict.<br />

Improvisation- To compose, perform, or create on the spur <strong>of</strong> the moment.<br />

Information - Any communication which serves to further define the Stage.<br />

Macroscopic - Pertaintng to the whole, or from the larger perspective.<br />

Main Plot - The plot to which all other plots in the Episode are related.<br />

Microscopic - Pertaining to the minutiae <strong>of</strong> events that make up the whole.<br />

Process - The ongoing interaction <strong>of</strong> descriptions and ideas which comprises the roleplay during each Scene<br />

Statement- Descriptions <strong>of</strong> a character's knowledge, memories, or perceptions, in that character's own voice, and<br />

from that character's perspective.<br />

Structure - The framework <strong>of</strong> plot, character, and dramatic necessity that holds the action <strong>of</strong> the story together<br />

Subplot - Any story that occurs along side, while still remaining secondary to the Main Plot<br />

Troupe Style Roleplaying - see Distributed Directtng, then multiply by a factor <strong>of</strong> three.<br />

The Incomplete Moment- The time between the description <strong>of</strong> some action and when the Result is<br />

actually realized.<br />

The Vague Sensory Perception - Any perception whose description is incomplete, requiring time<br />

and/or investigation to be fully realized.<br />

The Pliability <strong>of</strong> Fact - Through the use <strong>of</strong> Statements.<br />

1t.1 Statements- Provtde a means for the Actors to directly effect the ongoing process <strong>of</strong> the story. Remember<br />

that an Actor's Primary Descriptor may effect her Statements as follows ...<br />

Disapproval- A character may Disapprove any other Statement, about any piece <strong>of</strong> Information that<br />

falls within the domain <strong>of</strong> their own Primary Descriptor.<br />

Activat.lon - If any character makes a Statement covered by their own Primary Descnptor, then that<br />

is the only Statement in the field which may be Activated with a Plot Point.<br />

0 Props - Actors are free to improvise any non-dramatic prop that's appropriate to the Stage<br />

0 Veto - The Director has final approval over any and all improvtsations.<br />

0 Plot Points- Every one <strong>of</strong> those little suckers should be precious. Hard to earn. Harder to spend. And always<br />
