1. Installing Baffles on Fender Splash
Shields
Except on a few early Series 10 and 20 Cadillac
and LaSalle cars, the louvres in the fender splash
shields are eliminated and a baffle is installed on
the frame to prevent mud and water from being
thrown over the engine and dash. Parts for
making this installation on these early cars are
available under the following part numbers. The
quantities given are per car.

Before installing the baffle plates, the louvres in
the splash shields should be flattened out. On
LaSalle cars it will also be necessary to cut away
a section of the flange at the rear of the splash
shield as indicated in Fig. 3.
Holes for mounting the baffle plates on the frame
should be located, drilled, and tapped for a % in. x
20 screw. On Series 10 and 20 cars, the center line
of the holes should be 1 inch from the outside
edge of the frame with the hole at the rear 1 inch
from the outside edge of the frame with the hole
at the rear 1 inch from the body bracket, the
second hole, 6¾ in. from the first, and the third
10¾ in. from the second as shown in Fig. 2.
On the LaSalle the holes should be located on a
center line ff in. from the outside edge of the
frame at intervals of 4¾ in., 5¾ in., and 11½ in.,
starting from the body bracket as shown in Fig. 3.
