gathered in the valley <strong>and</strong> burnt to death <strong>without</strong> any<br />

survivors.<br />

Thus was how the rule of Mustafa Kemal <strong>and</strong> the new<br />

Turkish Republic started, <strong>and</strong> since then the Turkish<br />

constitution declared that there is only one people in<br />

Turkey, <strong>and</strong> that is the Turkish people. All others are<br />

not legal. Furthermore, the Turkish education programs<br />

state that the Turkish people are the origin of all people,<br />

meaning that all other peoples in the world were born<br />

out of the Turkish nation, <strong>and</strong> the Turkish language is<br />

the origin of all the languages of the world. This led the<br />

leader of the Nazi Germany, Adolph Hitler to say that he<br />

was educated by the ideas of Mustafa Kemal.<br />

Since the twenties of the twentieth century <strong>and</strong> up to<br />

the Turkish military coup in 1980, the Kurdish people<br />

lived ups <strong>and</strong> downs. However, whenever the democratic<br />

wave was strengthened the Kurdish parties, instead of<br />

unifying their efforts <strong>and</strong> take advantage, they would<br />

start fighting between themselves. In this way the best<br />

of the Kurdish activists were killed <strong>and</strong> eliminated. While,<br />

as soon as the democratic wave passes <strong>and</strong> a military<br />

coup takes over, the Kurdish-Kurdish antagonism stops<br />

<strong>and</strong> the Turkish authority takes over the elimination of<br />

the <strong>Kurds</strong>. <strong>The</strong> most recent of these coups was in 1980<br />

under the comm<strong>and</strong> of General Kanan Evren, after which<br />

all the Kurdish parties fled Turkey <strong>and</strong> resided in Syria.<br />

<strong>The</strong> strongest of those parties at the time was Alai Rizgari<br />

Party under the leadership of the revolutionary lady Khajo.<br />

Our comrades in Pasok Party informed me that when the<br />

activist Khajo visited the Peshmarga headquarters there,<br />

she was accompanied by 40 Peshmarga (Freedom<br />

fighters). While the Kawa Party was subjected to a huge<br />
