1) This delay in holding the third conference was<br />

because of the liberation of part of Southern <strong>Kurdistan</strong><br />

<strong>and</strong> forming government <strong>and</strong> parliament of <strong>Kurdistan</strong><br />

there. We were very optimistic in this regard <strong>and</strong> expected<br />

that they would be transformed little by little to contain<br />

the whole Kurdish people or at least they would permit<br />

us to hold the third conference of the KNC in <strong>Kurdistan</strong><br />

beside their regional parliament. However, none of these<br />

happened because of their regional <strong>and</strong> international<br />

circumstances <strong>and</strong> we appreciate that. During that period<br />

a number of <strong>Kurds</strong> who were members of the Turkish<br />

parliament fled to Europe <strong>and</strong> worked on forming a<br />

Kurdish parliament in exile on 12 April 1995 in the<br />

Hague in Holl<strong>and</strong>. I was invited to it <strong>and</strong> became a<br />

member of that parliament <strong>and</strong> worked in the committee<br />

of foreign relations as a representative of the idea of<br />

forming the <strong>Kurdistan</strong> <strong>Nation</strong>al Congress in the <strong>Kurdistan</strong><br />

parliament in exile. That was after the <strong>Kurdistan</strong><br />

parliament adopted the idea of the KNC, <strong>and</strong> I showed<br />

my readiness to unite all efforts in that regard. A committee<br />

was formed to make contacts to form a Congress in<br />

Brussels <strong>and</strong> I participated in its work also <strong>and</strong> participated<br />

in interviews <strong>and</strong> forums on Kurdish television Med-TV<br />

dedicated to the <strong>Kurdistan</strong> <strong>Nation</strong>al Congress. However,<br />

all of a sudden <strong>and</strong> from the start of 1996 the Kurdish<br />

TV <strong>and</strong> the <strong>Kurdistan</strong> parliament in exile stopped any<br />

mention of the KNC. So, during the meeting of the<br />

<strong>Kurdistan</strong> parliament in Rome on 15/7/1996, I spoke in<br />
