the President of the Republic <strong>and</strong> in agreement with the<br />

Prime Minister on all arrangements to declare a Kurdish<br />

state; those arrangements are according to the plan of<br />

Prince Kameran Baderkhan, which stated that a Kurdish<br />

state should be declared in the part that has been linked<br />

to the weakest state, <strong>and</strong> at the time Syria was the weakest.<br />

So, Prince Kameran carried out international contacts<br />

including with the Israeli State <strong>and</strong> promised them a<br />

peace agreement with Syria if they support a Kurdish<br />

However, not all wishes come true, <strong>and</strong> just after three<br />

months of the Kurdish rule in Syria, Colonel Sami Al-<br />

Hannawi carried out another military coup <strong>and</strong> overthrew<br />

the Syrian government killing its Kurdish leaders first of<br />

whom were the glorious martyrs Zaeem <strong>and</strong> Berazi. After<br />

investigations by the Syrian Intelligence Services it was<br />

discovered that the two Princes Jaladat <strong>and</strong> Kameran<br />

were behind the Zaeem’s coup, so, they arranged a plan<br />

to assassinate the two princes. Thus on 15/7/1951 they<br />

assassinated Prince Jaladat Baderkhan using a prearranged<br />

incident of water tank explosion that martyred him. As<br />

for Prince Kameran, he fled Syria since then <strong>and</strong> never<br />

returned until he died in Paris, mercy be on their souls<br />

<strong>and</strong> heaven be their place. <strong>The</strong> murders of Zeem, Berazi<br />

<strong>and</strong> Baderkhan extinguished the high hopes of the Kurdish<br />

people for a while.<br />

However, the rule of Colonel Sami Al-Hannawi did<br />

not last more than few months <strong>and</strong> another coup under<br />
