This is a fact confirmed by the Armenians <strong>and</strong> the<br />

academician Orbelli.<br />

<strong>The</strong> meeting between the leader of the Armenians<br />

Dashnak party with Abdel Rahman Badirkhan, one of<br />

the Kurdish leaders in Geneva with the purpose of unifying<br />

the dem<strong>and</strong>s of the Armenians <strong>and</strong> the <strong>Kurds</strong> witnesses<br />

to the excellent <strong>and</strong> strong relations between the two<br />

people.<br />

Following the meeting, <strong>and</strong> based on it, Abdel Rahman<br />

Badirkhan published an article in the Kurdish language<br />

in Arabic letters in the newspaper Troshak (<strong>The</strong> Flag),<br />

organ of the Dashnak party. (ref: <strong>The</strong> History of the<br />

Armenian <strong>Nation</strong> , Dr. K.A. Astarjian, published in Mosul,<br />

1951, p.315)<br />

<strong>The</strong>se relations are also referred to in the publications<br />

of General Sherif Pasha (16) in the newspaper of El<br />

Mashrouteya in 1914, in which he criticised the racist<br />

policies of the Unionists (Ittihad) in relation to the<br />

Armenian massacres.<br />

This rapprochement was also supported by bi-lateral<br />

accord between Boghos Nubar Pasha, representative of<br />

the Armenian people, <strong>and</strong> General Sherif Pasha,<br />

representative of the Kurdish people during the peace<br />

treaty of 1919 in Paris. <strong>The</strong>y presented a joint memo to<br />

the representatives of the union of nations after WW I,<br />

relating to the rights of the Kurdish <strong>and</strong> Armenian people<br />

in forming their respective independent homel<strong>and</strong>s. <strong>The</strong><br />

treaty of Sevres was the result of these efforts.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Koyboun party further deepened <strong>and</strong> harmonised<br />

the relations between it <strong>and</strong> the Armenian leaders. <strong>The</strong>y<br />

signed the historic treaty of political <strong>and</strong> military<br />

cooperation between the <strong>Kurds</strong> <strong>and</strong> the Armenians in<br />
