In order to prevent bloodshed, Prince Mohamed Pasha<br />

surrendered to the Ottomans who send him to Istanbul.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Ottoman Sultan apparently gave him amnesty in<br />

order to guarantee the support of Mella Khati <strong>and</strong> his<br />

followers who enabled the Ottomans to capture him.<br />

However, as always the Ottomans had other secret plans<br />

<strong>and</strong> sent someone to kill him while passing through the<br />

town of Siwas on his way back to Raw<strong>and</strong>uz. This was<br />

the end of the majority of the Kurdish leaders <strong>and</strong> princes,<br />

especially those who trusted the colonisers of <strong>Kurdistan</strong>.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Revolution of Badinan Princedom<br />

In 1830 A.D., Prince Ismail Pasha Badinani ignited a<br />

revolution in the areas of Amedy, Duhok <strong>and</strong> Akra. <strong>The</strong><br />

revolution lasted for about ten years with ups <strong>and</strong> downs<br />

against the Ottoman army. At the end the Ottomans<br />

surrounded him in the Amedy Castle <strong>and</strong> captured him.<br />

He spent his life in prison in Baghdad.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Great Revolution of Botan Princedom<br />

In 1812 A.D., Prince Badirkhan Pasha took over the<br />

Princedom of Jazeert Ibn Omar–Botan at the age of<br />

eighteen. In 1842 A.D., he announced the independence<br />

of <strong>Kurdistan</strong> from the Ottomans state <strong>and</strong> defeated all<br />

their military campaigns. He established a gun factory<br />

<strong>and</strong> another for ammunitions in the town of Jazeera. He<br />

issued money carrying his name <strong>and</strong> the authority of his<br />

government reached up to Mosul, Raw<strong>and</strong>uz, Shino,<br />

Urmia <strong>and</strong> Diarbakir. However, at the end this courageous<br />

prince was defeated because of treason by his own Chief<br />
