CHILDHOOD IMMUNISATION CLINICS SERVICE
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
PURPOSE OF REPORT:
For Council <strong>to</strong> consider the long term viability
<strong>of</strong> maintaining a childhood immunisation clinic
on <strong>be</strong>half <strong>of</strong> NSW Health.
BACKGROUND:
Council has provided a childhood immunisation
clinic on a monthly basis over many years. With
the emergence <strong>of</strong> new vaccine schedules, public
liability risks, long term medical record keeping
requirements and other various requirements it
is considered appropriate for Council <strong>to</strong> review
this current service .
RECOMMENDATION:
That Council advise NSW Health that it will
continue <strong>to</strong> conduct childhood immunisation
clinics in<strong>to</strong> the foreseeable future, once per
month, both morning and evening. That Council
make arrangements for the hosting <strong>of</strong> clinics at a
more suitable location and That Council
purchase new computer s<strong>of</strong>tware for the
recording and management <strong>of</strong> children’s
immunisation details.
