James Rennie and Nancy Pallin provided comment <strong>on</strong> the weed mapping data<br />

and interpretati<strong>on</strong>. It was discussed that trends in bushland c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong> will<br />

occur over the l<strong>on</strong>g term and that such m<strong>on</strong>i<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>ring and reporting <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the data<br />

must reflect this. It was decided that the <str<strong>on</strong>g>meeting</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>on</strong> M<strong>on</strong>day 20 Novem<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>r<br />

<strong>2006</strong> will review all m<strong>on</strong>i<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>ring programs and how <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>st these can report <strong>on</strong><br />

changes <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> our natural systems.<br />

BC&NARG 22 – Operati<strong>on</strong>al Plan<br />

Manager Sustainability & Natural Envir<strong>on</strong>ments explained that the operati<strong>on</strong>al<br />

plan was the internal working program <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the staff within the Natural<br />

Envir<strong>on</strong>ment and Sustainability secti<strong>on</strong>s <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Council. The activities identified<br />

were <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> enrich the Key Performance Indica<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>rs and other informati<strong>on</strong> provided<br />

in the adopted Management Plan for <strong>2006</strong>/2011. In terms <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> communicating <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

mem<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>rs <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> groups the informati<strong>on</strong> in the Management Plan was <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> used<br />

and that Council staff would <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> able <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> discuss in pers<strong>on</strong> individual projects <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

interest.<br />

Nancy Pallin raised the importance and need for mutual <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>neficial<br />

arrangements where Council sought corporate sp<strong>on</strong>sorship. One model <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

c<strong>on</strong>sider was though Greening Australia<br />

BC&NARG 23 – Noxious Weeds<br />

Manager Sustainability & Natural Envir<strong>on</strong>ments explained the process for the<br />

changes <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Noxious Weeds Act and the need for Council <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> adopt the Class<br />

4 weeds as identified.<br />

Neroli Lock, James Rennie, Margaret Booth, Margery Street and Nancy Pallin<br />

all commented <strong>on</strong> the list <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> weeds and the management pro<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>cols. As part <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

the report <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> Council <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> adopt the Class 4 weeds and other administrative<br />

processes the Reference Group sought the support <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Council <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> lodge a<br />

submissi<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Department <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Primary Industries seeking modificati<strong>on</strong> and<br />

suggested improvements <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the list. This summary would <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> included in the<br />

minutes <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the <str<strong>on</strong>g>meeting</str<strong>on</strong>g>.<br />
