These properties are not affected by the main own centre plans and will <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>sidered as part <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the<br />

A num<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>r <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> comments were made at the above menti<strong>on</strong>ed <str<strong>on</strong>g>meeting</str<strong>on</strong>g>.<br />

Given that <strong>on</strong>ly seven Committee mem<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>rs attended the <str<strong>on</strong>g>meeting</str<strong>on</strong>g> several <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the agenda items were<br />

rescheduled for c<strong>on</strong>siderati<strong>on</strong> at the next HAC <str<strong>on</strong>g>meeting</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>on</strong> 26 June <strong>2006</strong> where a larger num<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>r <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

HAC mem<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>rs will <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> in attendance. The items deferred for c<strong>on</strong>siderati<strong>on</strong> included the<br />

c<strong>on</strong>firmati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> minutes from the HAC <str<strong>on</strong>g>meeting</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>held</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>on</strong> 27.2.<strong>2006</strong>, the Ku-ring-gai His<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>ry Week<br />

Pho<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>graphic Competiti<strong>on</strong> & Exhibiti<strong>on</strong> and the Tulkiyan Sub- committee report. Of those agenda<br />

items discussed the following issues arose.<br />

1. Potential Heritage Item Review<br />

A background <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the study was given outlining the work undertaken by the c<strong>on</strong>sultants and the<br />

c<strong>on</strong>sultati<strong>on</strong> through two letters with property owners included in the study. An overview <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the<br />

study findings was given in relati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the studies relati<strong>on</strong>ship with the current <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>wn centres review.<br />

It is anticipated that a report will go <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> Council in June <strong>2006</strong> recommending that the study <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

placed <strong>on</strong> informal public exhibiti<strong>on</strong> for a period <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 28 days <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> allow community mem<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>rs the<br />

opportunity <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> make comments and provide further informati<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> the properties studied.<br />

Following the exhibiti<strong>on</strong> period all submissi<strong>on</strong>s will <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>sidered after which a report will go <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

back <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> Council <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> acknowledge and resp<strong>on</strong>d <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the submissi<strong>on</strong>s received. The potential heritage<br />

items will <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> included in the new Ku-ring-gai Comprehensive LEP process, where further analysis<br />

and review <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> their status and c<strong>on</strong>text can <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>sidered.<br />

2. Town Centres – Heritage Items<br />

HAC mem<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>rs were provided a summary page outlining the <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>wn centres project and review <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

heritage in the centres <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> date. The summary identified the five categories or ‘criteria’ used by the<br />

c<strong>on</strong>sultants undertaking the project <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> determine how a particular building may or may not fit in<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

the proposed redevelopment <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the centre in questi<strong>on</strong>. The HAC discussed the approach <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the<br />

c<strong>on</strong>sultant’s review and their findings.<br />

HAC mem<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>rs c<strong>on</strong>sidered a summary table prepared for the Gord<strong>on</strong> and Pymble <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>wn centres and<br />

the c<strong>on</strong>sultant’s recommendati<strong>on</strong>s for certain heritage and potential heritage items.<br />
