proposed under this project. In response <strong>to</strong> the tender process, an evaluation <strong>of</strong> alternative options
was undertaken. The most viable <strong>be</strong>ing for Council <strong>to</strong> act as project manager with works
undertaken on a staged basis engaging the necessary sub-contrac<strong>to</strong>rs and consultants as necessary.
Updating <strong>of</strong> the project will <strong>be</strong> provided <strong>to</strong> Council as part <strong>of</strong> the capital works and environmental
levy reporting and where additional funding may <strong>be</strong> required, a report will <strong>be</strong> prepared for
Council’s consideration.
RECOMMENDATION
A. That Council not proceed <strong>to</strong> appoint a tenderer for the works.
B. That all tenderers <strong>be</strong> advised <strong>of</strong> Council’s decision.
C. That Council undertake the project and manage the works in accordance with a staged
process based on mitigating fire risk.
D. Council engage the necessary sub-contrac<strong>to</strong>rs <strong>to</strong> complete the works on a staged basis
in accordance with the Ku-ring-gai Council purchasing policy.
E. That works commence in 2006/07 and that a progress report <strong>be</strong> brought back <strong>to</strong>
<strong>council</strong> prior <strong>to</strong> June 2007 including funding options for the completion <strong>of</strong> works, if
required.
