FUEL SYSTEM (DFI) 3-71<br />

CAUTION<br />

Never drop the ECU, especially on a hard surface.<br />

Such a shock to the ECU can damage it.<br />

ECU Identification<br />

○Most countries have their own regulations, so each ECU<br />

has different characteristic. So, do not confuse ECU’s<br />

with each other and use only the ECU’s for your country.<br />

Otherwise, the motorcycle could not clear the regulation.<br />

ECU Removal<br />

• Remove:<br />

Front and Rear Seats (see Frame chapter)<br />

Regulator/rectifier [A]<br />

Front [B]<br />

Take the ECU [A] out along with the harness.<br />

Disconnect the ECU lead connectors [B].<br />

Front [C]<br />

ECU Installation<br />

• Connect the ECU connectors, noting the length of the<br />

locks.<br />

Longer Lock [A]<br />

Shorter Lock [B]<br />

ECU [C]
