Torque and Locking Agent
The following tables list the tightening torque
for the major fasteners requiring use of a non
-permanent locking agent or liquid gasket.
Letters used in the “Remarks” column mean:
L: Apply a non-permanent locking agent to
the threads.
G: Apply grease to the threads.
MO: Apply molybdenum disulfide grease oil
solution.
EO: Apply oil to the threads and seating surface.
S: Tighten the fasteners following the specified
sequence.
SS: Apply silicone sealant.
Si: Apply silicone grease (ex. PBC grease).
R: Replacement parts
AL: Tighten the two clamp bolts alternately
two times to ensure even tightening
torque.
The table on the right lists the basic torque
for the bolts and nuts, which are determined
by their thread diameter. Use this table for the
bolts and nuts that are not listed in the table
below according to their thread diameter. All of
the tightening torque values are for use with dry
threads that have been cleaned with solvent.
