13-24 SUSPENSION
Tie-Rod, Rocker Arm
Rocker Arm Installation
• Apply grease to the inside of the needle bearings and oil
seal lips, and add grease to the grease nipple.
• Tighten:
Torque - Rocker Arm Bolt: 34 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 25 ft·lb)
Tie-Rod Nut: 59 N·m (6.0 kgf·m, 43 ft·lb)
Rear Shock Absorber Nut: 34 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 25
ft·lb)
Rocker Arm/Tie-Rod Bearing, Sleeve Inspection
• Visually inspect the rocker arm/tie-rod sleeves and needle
bearings.
• The rollers in a needle bearing normally wear very little,
and wear is difficult to measure. Instead of measuring,
inspect the bearing for abrasion, color change, or other
damage.
If there is any doubt as to the condition of any of the needle
bearings or sleeve, replace the sleeve, and needle
bearings as a set.
Unit-track Linkage Lubrication
• Refer to Unit-track Linkage Lubrication in the Periodic
Maintenance chapter.
