Using a Tracing Image
A tracing image is a mockup of the page that appears as a guide for placing the page elements. The concept is similar to
using tracing paper to trace over an image. You can control the opacity of the tracing image so that you can see the page
elements you are arranging more clearly, or see the tracing image more clearly.
To use a tracing image with your page, you need to first import a mockup image for your page into the Assets pane (for
details, see "Importing Images" on page 149).
To assign the tracing image to the page:
1. Click the page in the Canvas, or select Page in the Page Outline pane on the lower left side of the Project Editor
next to the Canvas.
After selecting the page, the page properties appear in the Properties pane on the right side of the Project Editor
next to the Canvas.
2. Drag the mockup image in the Assets pane to the tracing image well in the Properties pane, as shown in Figure 7-3
on page 158.

3. Click the Tracing Image option above the tracing image well to turn it on.
4. Drag the Opacity slider, which is beneath the tracing image well, in order to increase or reduce the opacity of the
tracing image.
