Placing Elements Freely or Using Arrow Keys
When placing an element on the page, you can drag it freely to any position. Once placed on the canvas, you can also use
the arrow keys on your keyboard to move an element precisely (one pixel at a time) in one direction, such as up, down,
left, or right. Using two keys at a time, you can even move the element diagonally.
Placing Elements Using Page Coordinates
To place an element using precise page coordinates, select the element and use the Layout tab of the Properties pane on
the right side of the Canvas, as shown in Figure 7-4 on page 170.
For example, you can click inside the X and Y Position fields to enter coordinates in pixels for the top left corner of the
element. You can also use the keywords "center", "left", and "right" for the X Position field (for example, "center" centers
the element horizontally on the page), and "top", "middle", or "bottom" with the Y Position field. You can also specify a
percentage (such as "60%" in the Y Position field to place an element starting at exactly 60% of the distance from the top
of the page).
