CHAPTER 16: Using Web View, HTML, and HTML5 Widgets Using the Web View Widget The Web View widget lets you create a view on a page that displays an existing web page. You enter the URL and set the scrolling option for the web page. To place a Web View element on a page, drag the widget from the External section of the Widgets pane to the Canvas, as shown in Figure 16-2 on page 364. You can then resize, align, and arrange the element to fit your page design (for details, see "Working in the Project Editor" on page 154). Figure 16-2: Placing a Web View widget on a page. After placing the Web View widget on the page, you can enter the full URL for the web page in the Source field of the General tab of the Properties pane on the right side of the Project Editor, as shown in Figure 16-3 on page 365. You can also use the Scrolling drop-down menu to choose: • Yes: Include scroll bars • No: Not include scroll bars • Auto: Include scroll bars only if the web page is not fully contained within the view. - 364 -

To change the Web View element's properties, click the element on the page, or click Web View in the Page Outline pane. The Properties pane for the Web View element appears on the right side of the Project Editor (refer to Figure 16-3 on page 365). You can customize the Web View element by changing properties in the Properties pane: • The General tab lets you define the element's optional ID.For details, see "Changing General Properties" on page 197. • The Appearance tab lets you set the Web View element's background, border, and opacity, and add a reflection and shadow to the element. For details, see "Changing Appearance Properties" on page 198. • The Layout tab lets you set the size of the Web View element and its position on the page. You can also constrain the proportions of the element so that the aspect ratio stays the same when freely resizing it on the Canvas. For details, see "Changing Layout Properties" on page 214. - 365 -
