Using the List Menu Widget
The List Menu widget lets you add a List Menu element to a form or page and associate an action to be performed when
the user selects a menu option. You can change the element's appearance, the text font family and size, text formatting
within the element, and the element's layout on the page. In addition, you can change the text character spacing, and add
a shadow to the text in the element.
To place a List Menu element on a page, drag the List Menu widget from the Common tab of the Widgets pane to the
Canvas. You can then resize, align, and arrange the element to fit your page design (for details, see "Working in the
Project Editor" on page 154).
To customize the List Menu element, select the element on the page or in the Page Outline pane, as shown in Figure 9-9
on page 251. The Properties pane for the element appears on the right side of the Project Editor.
To enter a name for the List Menu element, enter the name in the Name field in the General tab at the top of the
Properties pane.
To add the various List Menu options, in the General tab, under the Options section, click the add icon ( ). In the Text
field enter the label for the List Menu element's first option, and then in the Value field enter a unique value that this option
represents. To add more List Menu options click the add icon again. To choose which List Menu option will display as the
default when the user views the form or page, click on the option's far right column and select the check box that
appears. A blue check mark displays to show the default value.
