5ml User's Guide Using the Google +1 Widget The Google +1 widget lets you place a Google +1 "Like" button on a page. You provide the URL of the page that the user can "+1" (and share on Google). You can choose the Google +1 element layout size; standard, small, medium, or tall. You can also choose to show the +1 counter. To place the widget on a page and create an element from it, drag the widget from the Widgets pane to the Canvas, as shown in Figure 14-2 on page 348. You can then resize, align, and arrange the element to fit your page design (for details, see "Working in the Project Editor" on page 154). Figure 14-2: Placing a Google +1 widget on a page in the Canvas. To change the Google +1 element's properties, click the element on the page or select it in the Page Outline pane. The Properties pane for the element appears on the right side of the Project Editor. You can then set the properties in the General tab of the Properties pane: 1. Enter the URL in the URL To +1 field, which is underneath the ID field. 2. Choose one of the following layout sizes (shown with the counter) from the Size drop-down menu underneath the URL To +1 field: Size Image Standard Small - 348 -

You can also customize the Google +1 element by changing properties in the Properties pane: • The General tab lets you define the element's optional ID. For details, see "Changing General Properties" on page 197. • The Appearance tab lets you set the element's background, border, and opacity, and add a reflection and shadow to the element. For details, see "Changing Appearance Properties" on page 198. • The Layout tab lets you set the size of the element and its position on the page.
